Environmental Monitoring for Environmental Protection
Protecting our environment is a top priority. All countries in Europe have set up a nationwide network of stations to monitor emissions. The main air impurities, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide or hydrocarbons, are monitored. Samples are taken in short time intervals and analyzed by gas chromatography. Continuous measurements are made with infrared or ultraviolet spectrometry.
In order to guarantee a high measurement accuracy even in the lowest concentration ranges, the measuring instruments have to be regularly calibrated with high precision calibration gas mixtures. In some cases, it is required to use calibration gases with a certificate from a laboratory accredited according to EN ISO/IEC 17025.
Traceline-mixtures for Trace Analysis
Messer offers a wide range of calibration gases for environmental monitoring. The most important components can be manufactured down to the low ppm- or even ppb-concentration range (Traceline-mixtures). Many of these mixtures can also be produced with a certificate from a laboratory accredited according to EN ISO/IEC 17025.
