PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Ozone is used for the chemical oxidation of problematic, refractory substances, such as humic acids or persistent pesticides. The molecule consisting of three oxygen atoms is one of the strongest oxidising agents, but is environmentally friendly and does not form chlorinated by products. However, ozone is unstable and is therefore only produced on site at the waterworks using ozone generators.
